TennisUK is delighted to announce that our summer competition programme is now published until the end of September 2009.
Over 200 one-day matchplay events have been staged between June and September at Sutton, Eton, Hatfield and the LTA National Tennis Centre in Roehampton on both indoor and outdoor courts. All events take place at the weekends in the afternoons and evenings. Matchplay events are run in several age groups and provide an excellent means of match practice for both adults and juniors against opponents of similar standard. Results are submitted to the LTA for ratings purposes for all matchplay events.
We are also managing several summer tournaments this year, including five LTA grade 3 rankings competitions and one AEGON British Tour event. Three SuperSeries tournaments are also being staged.
The complete list of all the tournaments scheduled during July, August and September 2009 is as follows:
- 4th and 5th July - The Manydown Tennis (Hampshire) Girls 14&U SuperSeries. Grade 4.
Two-day grade 4 tournament. All accepted players take part in 3-4 matches over two days.
- 26th July to 1st August - The Essex Open Tennis Championships (Billericay) Grade 3.
Traditional week long tournament for Junior and Adult players. Singles and doubles.
- 3rd to 8th August - St. George's Hill Open Tennis Tournament (Weybridge, Surrey) Grade 3.
Long established tournament including Adult, Junior and Mini-Tennis events. Singles and Doubles.
- 3rd to 8th August - Reigate Junior Open Tournament (Surrey) Grade 4.
Popular local tournament for Junior players. Singles, doubles and mixed doubles event.
- 3rd to 8th August - The Global Tennis Family Festival (Eastbourne, Sussex). Grade 4.
Grass court tournament including Adult, Junior, Veteran and Mini-Tennis events. The first of TWO tournaments at Eastbourne's International Tennis Centre.
- 10th to 15th August - The Devonshire Park Open (Eastbourne, Sussex). Grade 4.
Grass court tournament including Adult, Junior, Veteran and Mini-Tennis events. The first of TWO tournaments at Eastbourne's International Tennis Centre.
- 16th to 22nd August - The Sutton Tennis & Squash Club Summer Open (Surrey). Grade 2/4.
Grade 2 AEGON British Tour event (Mens and Ladies Open Singles) plus Junior and Mini-Tennis events.
- 16th to 23rd August - The Aldershot Open Tournament (Hampshire). Grade 3.
Established 13 years. Adult, Junior and Mini-Tennis events taking place on acrylic courts.
- 5th, 6th, 12th & 13th September - Sutton Tennis Academy Mens & Ladies SuperSeries (Surrey). Grade 3.
Weekend only Grade 3 tournament for adults and older junior players. Indoor play during the afternoon and evening.
- 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th September - Wargrave Boys 14&U SuperSeries. Grade 4.
Weekend only Grade 4 tournament. Progressive draw. Afternoon play.
