Grade 2 tournaments are national level competitions intended for players of national and county standard. Grade 2 competitions tend to take place over a period of 5-8 days with several age groups, often including both singles and doubles events. There are very few tournaments in this grade.

Although most grade 2 tournaments will accept applications from players of any rating, tournaments at this level are generally oversubscribed. Selections are made on merit (based on each player's LTA rating and then their ranking) so lower rated applicants may not be offered a place.

The number of points awarded to players winning successive rounds in a grade 2 competition is higher than in a grade 3 event. All matches in grade 2 competitions also count for LTA RATINGS too.
