For the 7th successive year Billericay Lawn Tennis Club will be hosting the Essex Open Tennis Championships. This prestigious tournament is now 64 years old and has always been a very successful and well supported competition, attracting players of all ages and standard from all over the country.

All main draw singles events in 2010 (12&U and above) will count towards LTA ratings and grade 3 rankings. We shall also be staging yellow ball 11 & under ratings events too.

In partnership with David Fuchs and his company, Tennis Services UK Limited, the tournament will be published on the web at www.tennisuk.net which will allow players to make online applications.  After registering and logging on to this site, click on the "Events and Applications" tab on the right-hand index to make an application. Shortly before start of the competition draws, orders of play and other tournament information will be published and this will be updated on a daily basis. David has also been re-appointed as our tournament referee.

We shall also be running a separate 8&U, 9&U and 10&U mini-tennis tournament from Monday 9th to Friday 13th August 2010. All enquiries regarding this separate mini competition should be made by telephoning  mini-tournament organiser Colin Clay on 07961 164 080 (email: colinaclay@btinternet.com).

Our club boasts 7 artificial grass and 3 tarmac courts. All courts are floodlit and surround a well equipped central clubhouse incorporating a large lounge area. Catering will be provided throughout the tournament thanks to a team of volunteers. Scoreboards are provided for all matches and all courts have viewing facilities.
